Charlene Cappellini MA, MLS, KYT, YAT, spent many years as an academic educator before becoming a yoga teacher. A long-time student with Loretta Armer, she completed her first yoga teacher training and certification from Dr. Armer's Namaste Yoga Teacher Training Center (1999-2000). She has another 200-hr certification from Kripalu Yoga Center (2004), completed a 500-hr teaching certification with Gary Kraftsow at the American Viniyoga Institute (2013), and has been a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher since 2004. Charlene also trained in Restorative Yoga with Judith Lasater and is a certified Relax and Renew™ teacher (2008). She has been practicing yoga since 1985.

At Namasté Yoga, Charlene offers Gentle and Restorative yoga classes, as well as Yoga for Balance and Stability, a class designed especially for older students. Her Gentle Yoga classes combine Kripalu and Viniyoga traditions, using an organic approach that encourages students to honor the wisdom of their own bodies and unique individual needs. Each class offers instruction on developing core stability to increase strength and endurance, support the spine, improve alignment, and overall well-being. Students learn breathing techniques that not only support the postures, but also reduce stress and promote respiratory and spinal health. Each class ends with a deep, meditative relaxation. Charlene is available for one-on-one consultations to help you design a personal yoga practice that meets your specific, individual needs. Julia DeHoff is an Iyengar certified yoga teacher who has been teaching at Namasté Yoga since 2004. Iyengar Yoga emphasizes alignment of the parts of the body within each yoga pose. This precision builds strength, flexibility, and balance, resulting in a sense of well-being and joy. Iyengar students practice meditation in action, learning to exist fully and vibrantly in the present moment.

Jen Gensits began studying yoga as part of her recovery from emotional and physical trauma. Having experienced spiritually transformative effects from the practice, she infuses her classes with a passion for the present moment. Jen is Yoga-Alliance registered at the 500-hr level. She completed 300-hr teacher certification in Yoga of the Himalayan Tradition (Himalayan Institute, Honesdale, PA, 2016), and two 200-hr certifications: Vinyasa Flow (West End Yoga, Allentown, PA, 2014) and Kriya Yoga (Leslie Hanks’ Yoga Unlimited, Tallahassee FL, 2003). She has taught yoga and led meditation and Yoga Nidra since 2014. Jen holds a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Florida State University. A former professional ballet and modern dancer, she leads an ethical vegan lifestyle, attends classical music concerts, and explores outdoor Florida with her husband and their border collie.

Gretchen Hein  Yoga has been a part of Gretchen Hein’s life since her early 20’s. She has been teaching yoga since completing her 200-hr yoga teacher training at Kripalu in 2001. She continues to pursue advanced training through Pranakriya Yoga. Additionally, she has studied in the Iyengar and Anusara traditions as well as studying Tai Chi and 5 Rhythms for a number of years. Her teaching style is a synthesis of all she has learned during her studies. In addition to teaching classes at Namaste´ Yoga, Gretchen also leads workshops, private small group instruction, and individual yoga classes. She co-owns Namasté Yoga with Ellen Shapiro. Gretchen spent time teaching yoga in the visually impaired community. She produced Yoga for the Blind and Visually Impaired, a 5 CD yoga instructional CD as well as a 60-minute Yoga Flow CD. Through this work, Gretchen honed her ability to language both the basics and the nuances of moving into, being in, and then releasing postures.

The ability to practice on the physical level and access the deeper healing of the body/mind/soul keep Gretchen coming back to her mat day after day, and also feeds her desire to share the practices with others.

Jasbir Kaur Khalsa has been a certified Level 1 KRI (Kundalini Research Institute) teacher of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan since 2010 and has completed the coursework for Level 2. She is a regular participant in several significant annual Kundalini events, including Winter Solstice and White Tantric Yoga. Prior to Kundalini yoga finding her, she was a teacher of Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga and of movement/dance. Jasbir is deeply indebted to the teachings of KY through her teachers Deva Kaur Khalsa of www.myyogasource.com  in Davie, FL and Kirn Kaur Khalsa of www.purestpotentialcom in Sante Fe, NM. Please see www.KRITeachings.org and www.KundaliniYoga.com for background information.

Lynn Priestley, RYT200.  Lynn has been a part of Namaste’ Yoga since its inception in 2001, teaching and subbing off and on. Now she is offering a series of “SkyStyx” yoga classes.  The “SkyStyxs” methodology is a fun, supportive practice permitting deeper strength, stamina, balance and flexibility by utilizing your third limb, your SkyStyx. Lynn completed Yoga Teacher Training with Dr Loretta Armer (1998-99), at the Florida Institute of Integrated Yoga in Tampa, FL (2001-2003), and in 2012 with Christopher Baxter, founder of Inner Sky Yoga. Lynn is also a two-time “SkyStyx” certified instructor under Christopher’s tutelage (Skystyx.com).  Come and join Lynn in laughter and movement, quiet and inner exploration with SkyStyxs Yoga.

Marney Richards is a 200-hr certified Kripalu Yoga teacher and appreciates the focus of this tradition on using breath and inward attention to help make yoga practice a balance between challenge and ease. She is also licensed as a Massage Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant and Certified Fitness Trainer. She has studied and taught kinesiology in massage therapy programs and applies her understanding of movement, bodywork and rehabilitation to yoga teaching and practice.Throughout her work she's seen the benefits of a regular physical practice and its importance in maintaining health. She believes that yoga practice can help us move through life with more comfort and ease.

In her classes at Namasté Yoga, she enjoys sharing yoga with people who may need extra support, including those who may think yoga is out of their reach. Marney also offers therapeutic bodywork, individual yoga sessions, and fitness training. Please contact her for an appointment.

Cindy Rust originally became interested in yoga while raising teenagers and caring for aging parents. During that time Svaroopa® Yoga became her primary self-care tool for dealing with stress and for keeping the body strong and flexible. After several years of experiencing and witnessing the countless benefits of yoga practice, she decided to pursue teacher training and is now certified at the 200-hour level in Svaroopa® Yoga. She also completed training as an Embodyment® Yoga Therapist. Having taken a hiatus from her medical work some years ago, she now prefers yoga's holistic healing approach. The hiatus became a permanent change! Raised in South Florida, Cindy has lived and worked in Miami, Chicago, Central Florida, and Atlanta. She and her husband recently moved to Tallahassee and are happy to be back home in the Sunshine State.

Ellen Shapiro is a certified 500-hr Professional Level Yoga Teacher through Pranakriya Yoga who has been teaching yoga since 2001. She also completed a 500-hr training in Pranakriya Yoga Therapy. Ellen received her 200-hr certification through Kripalu Yoga. Ellen is also a Licensed Psychologist and a Certified Sex Therapist with an active private psychotherapy practice. Ellen co-owns Namasté Yoga with Gretchen Hein. Ellen's work with students and clients incorporates body-mind approaches, spiritual awareness, and a focus on positive health and wellness. Her personal and professional journey towards integration and wholeness of mind/body/spirit continues to evolve through ongoing training and practice in yoga, psychotherapy, body/mind healing, and energy transformation. Ellen loves to share the many gifts of yoga and energy work, and also offers retreats, workshops, private therapeutic yoga for individuals and small groups, and yoga teacher mentoring. She leads several annual retreats, including Fully Alive Yoga Beach Retreats and a New Year Retreat. Lisa Wixted received her 200-hr YTT certification through Many Rivers Yoga. She is a certified K-6th grade, biology, and earth science teacher, a public school teacher of 5 years, and a homeschool teacher for over 10 years in Virginia. As a La Leche leader, Lisa started teaching Mommy Me Yoga to breastfeeding moms in 2012 and fell in love with yoga. After moving to Tallahassee in 2015, she became a certified Mommy Me Yoga teacher under Katie Wise with YoMama. Lisa is available for Baby Me, Toddler Me, and Kids' Yoga group sessions and special events.

Lisa seeks to provide a fun and supportive yoga environment for parents and kids. She incorporates songs and American Sign Language in Baby Me and Toddler Me Yoga classes to strengthen the parent-child bond. She encourages new moms to safely reconnect with and strengthen their postpartum bodies. Lisa enjoys introducing young ones to the world of yoga through fun breath work and the blending of education and poses. She believes yoga provides not only a connection between your body and breath, but positive connections with those around you.
